A turnkey duplex penthouse overlooking Mount Street Gardens. High-density coordination involving Westminster crane road closures, crane lift of 4.5m bronze stair stringers, and a comprehensive white-glove site delivery.
The Design Intent
The atelier envisioned a tailored masculine sanctuary evoking classic 1930s European modernism with patinated brass, dark fluted timber, bookmatched Arabescato marble, and frameless flush architectural openings.
The Engineering Challenge
Crane access on Mount Street was restricted to a single 6-hour weekend window by Westminster City Council. Any error in structural sizing or weight calculation would have derailed the critical path schedule.
The Execution Approach
Our technical director conducted 3D laser point-cloud scanning prior to fabrication. The staircase was pre-assembled in the metal fabricator’s workshop to confirm tolerances within 1mm before road delivery and crane hoist.
